The current Moonfleet yard is one of the oldest in Stalham and for years was known by the famous Broads name of Southgate's. who also had a yard in Horning.
The main Staithe is Stalham Staithe, the Staithe where Moonfleet Marine are situated, is actually Brumstead Staithe, the Staithe directly opposite is the Poor's Staithe and now the home of the
Museum of the Broads, to the right of which is the
old granary and Cookes' Staithe. The area is also known as Burton's Wharf, which was the name of the old
granary warehouses.
